My Back-ard

THE question has come up and has been ask at least once daily for the last week. "Can I have a dog for my back-ard?"

A recent conversation with Kellen regarding this issue:

K--"I all finished playing in my back-ard."
M--"Why? Did the neighbor's dogs come outside?"
K--"Yea, but they in their -ard and I in mys so they can't get me." (repeating what I say to him every time this happens)
M--"So what will you do if you have a dog in YOUR backyard?"
K--thoughtful. . ."Cry."
M--"So maybe you don't really want a dog in your backyard after all?"
K--"I just want a kitty for my back-ard."

Pretty sure we're not getting any animals in the near future, but thought our conversation was pretty cute.
