Baby Blessing

Our church had a Baby Blessing for us last weekend. For lack of a better word, it was such a blessing. We received a ton of new clothes and diapers, along with numerous prayers as we begin the journey of parenting. Tandon's parents were also here last weekend, so Sandy was able to go to the Baby Blessing with me.

Six Pounds

I was attacked by the 24 hour stomach bug yesterday. It finally passed about 1:30 this morning, but not without taking six pounds with it. I had been wanting to lose weight for a long time, but surely there was a less miserable way to accomplish that goal. Today, rather than going to brunch with my friends, I will lay around with Kellen and try to rehydrate myself. It's times like these that make me wish my mom lived closer!

Family

We went to Oklahoma to visit family again this past weekend. It's nice how babies bring the family together more often.

Mema Great with both babies.

Poppy Great making Kellen giggle.

Cousins trying to figure each other out. Miah kept taking Kellen's "plug" out of his mouth. He was not happy about it. :-)

My beautiful niece, Miah Cate.

Kellen loves his Great Uncle John!

Ideas?

I have been trying to come up with a creative title for our blog since we are no longer living at the ranch. However, I have been unsuccessful thus far. Any great ideas?

Sitting Up

Kellen has a new view of the world. He started sitting up on Sunday and is now quite stable.

Who Gave Kellen Bubble Gum?

Kellen has started doing the funniest thing with his mouth. He smacks as if he has a big wad of bubble gum. Not sure why he does it, maybe it feels good to his teething gums or maybe he thinks I'm going to put some baby food in his mouth if he opens it. Whatever the reason, it is very entertaining.

Green Beans, YUM!

My first attempt at making homemade baby food.

Thursday Night

We went on a whirlwind of a trip this past weekend and visited a ton of people. I think the best way to share pictures with family is the post each day separately. Enjoy!

Thursday night we stopped at my cousin Lisa's house. It was a brief but fun visit. Kellen was able to meet everyone is Lisa's family for the first time. Here are some pictures of Bailey and Zayne playing with Kellen. There's also a picture of Bailey and I playing the Wii. Our hair is cut almost the same way.

Thanks guys for letting us stay at your place on our way to Kansas and Oklahoma. Having a place to stop on Thursday made the trip easier for everyone.

Friday Night

Friday night we visited my dad's side of the family. Once again, Kellen got to meet many family members for the first time, including his great grandma. My brother, sister-in-law, and niece drove over to see us. Fun Times!

We finally put Miah and Kellen together Friday evening. Miah was very enthralled with Kellen. She kept trying to roll over and touch him. He just laid there looking at her. It's funny how their little personalities come out at such a young age. She's an explorer and he's happy just to watch the action. They were cute to watch.

Saturday Night

Our final destination was Tandon's parent's house. We stopped at the nursing home so Kellen could meet another great grandmother. The people at the home lit up with excitement to see a baby. What fun to encourage the elderly!

Tandon gave his sisters a shooting lesson and I was able to shoot my new hand gun for the first time. I'm pretty good. :-)

Kellen was wiped out by the end of the trip!! So many new faces. I was proud of how well he did in the social situations and during the long car rides. He is still trying to recover from lack of sleep, but it was worth it.

Me and My Little Man

Many of you have been asking about my employment and childcare for Kellen, so I thought I would revisit my rant. I accepted a part time (20-25 hours Monday thru Thursday) job with Sylvan Learning Center. I will be assisting in the assessment of students and in coordinating their curriculum. My hours are somewhat flexible, so I will work as many hours as I can in the evenings allowing Tandon to watch Kellen. We are still working out details for the daytime hours, but it looks like we may have a couple of options that I feel okay about. As much as I hate to go back to work, I think this job is a God send. It allows Tandon to watch Kellen in the evenings and gives us family time on the weekends. Thanks for praying!
