We had my favorite meal tonight for dinner. Thought I would share. The dressing is to die for! I usually make this for dinner and then use the left over dressing on salad the rest of the week for lunch. Tandon claims he doesn't like this meal, but when I ask what is wrong with it all he can come up with is "it's too girly." Deep down he really likes it, he just won't admit it. :)



Oriental Chicken Wraps

• teriyaki chicken, shredded
• mandarin oranges
• lettuce
• crispy chow mein noodles
• sliced green onions
• creamy sesame dressing

Combine all ingredients on a tortilla and enjoy!

Creamy Sesame Dressing

• 1 C mayo
• 2 Tbsp sesame oil
• 2 Tbsp lemon juice
• 1/3 C sugar
• 1/2 tsp. pepper
• 5 Tbsp milk

Crack

Listen to the commercial in the background. Please excuse the food, it was challenging to catch the commercial on the radio while Kellen was sitting still. :)

Apparently we listen to too much Rush Limbaugh since my child has memorized the commercials. He says "crack" on cue every time that commercial comes on the radio.

The other day I spilled a glass of water on the carpet and said "CRAP!" Kellen proceeded to follow me around while I cleaned it up chanting "crack" because that's what he thought I said. I forget that I live with a parrot and need to be careful what I say and listen to. He is absorbing more than I think!

Peanut

We had our first ultra sound today. It's funny how a pregnancy doesn't seem "real" until I have seen the baby--despite the morning sickness and everything else associated with pregnancy. So, I can now rest assured that we really do have a second baby on the way. Our little peanut measured 6.26cm from head to rump and moved all over during the ultra sound. It was exciting to finally see what God is knitting together in my womb!!

Pregnancy

Tandon and I are ecstatic about having a second child! Kellen has been such a blessing to our lives, we can't imagine the joy that two babies will bring!! I am very apprehensive about this journey, but looking forward to the end result. Please pray that this pregnancy will be vastly different than my first!

I am 11 weeks along and finally seeing the end of morning (or should I say "ALL DAY") sickness. We have a doctors appointment on Aug 21st and anticipate having pictures to share afterward.

For anyone who is interested there is a due date tracker at the bottom of my blog. It counts down the number of days until the baby comes and gives tidbits about development. I couldn't figure out how to get it to fit on the side bar, so it ended up on the bottom of the page. :)

Ready or Not . . .

Oklahoma

We went to visit the in laws in the Oklahoma panhandle last weekend. Celebrated Tandon's parent's 40th wedding anniversary, went to the play TEXAS in the palo duro canyon, and hung out on the farm.

Kellen had many adventures, including riding the lawn mower and seeing numerous farm animals.

From the time Kellen has started talking, every animal has been a "dog." No matter how long we try to convince him otherwise, Kellen insists on calling all animals dogs. This trip was monumental because Kellen called the cows "cow," rather than dog! It may be slow, but we are making progress. :)

Stopped in to visit with Kellen's great grandma at the nursing home.

And on to Weatherford to see Tandon's cousins family (and participate in a competitive game of washers). We also met sweet baby Karlee for the first time!

All of our traveling adventures should be over for the summer. I'm looking forward to getting back into a normal routine. I think Kellen is too--he slept 14 hours straight the night we got home from our travels!
