Soccer

We signed Kellen up for soccer at our community center this winter. They don't play 'real' games, but simply involve the kids in skill building activities. These pictures are from our third session last weekend.

I was a little nervous about how K would respond to a noisy gym, the possibility of other kids bumping into him, and practicing gross motor skills with an audience.

It took him about 20 minutes and a few tears to warm up to the idea, but he has since flourished at the gym.

We are really proud of his perseverance!

Especially after she realized she could finally eat the cake. (She stole at least one M-n-M earlier that afternoon.) :o)

FOUR

Today is Kellen's 4th birthday. WOW! How did that happen?

When he woke up this morning, I greeted him with, "Happy Birthday!" Puzzled he said, "Am I four now?" "Yep." "But I'm not big yet, see?" He asked as he stood up on my bed and motioned up his body with his hands.

Apparently he thought that having a birthday meant that he would wake up not only older, but bigger. I could see where that would be confusing. :) He has since asked numerous times (and it's only 8:30) when he is going to get big. He is getting big way too quickly, if you ask me!

Started a new tradition this year--birthday questions for my scrapbook. His answers were not as entertaining as I thought they would be, but I think they show his personality.

Haircut

We've always taken K to the salon to get his hair cut, but for the sake of our pocket book decided to try it at home this time. After all, I told Tandon, when we have seven boys, we won't want to spend that kind of money on hair cuts. ;) He quickly told me that if we have seven boys they will all get the straight across buzz cut--no fancy stuff. Haha!

I think Tandon may have missed his calling...
