Au Revoir Arkansas
This past week my core group of girls (mostly from church) had a Au Revoir Arkansas party for me. Thanks girls for a fun party and for the Omaha Zoo membership you gave our family! What a thoughtful gift! I know we will spend tons of time there, especially this first year when we don't have many friends. I am going to miss you guys and all of your sweet children!

Change
Well, the verdict is in...I HATE change!
My brain tells me this move is for the better--but change is still really hard.
A good friend from college is getting married this weekend, so I get to take a much needed break from thinking about boxes, down payments, and home repairs to focus on Kara. Should be fun! I'll post pictures next month after we get settled in Nebraska.
Speaking of getting settled, we don't close on our home in Omaha until July 8th. And, if you'll recall, we close on the Arkansas house this Wednesday, June 29th. Lovely!! Why can't anything be easy??
The current owners of the Omaha house are letting us store our belongings in the garage until we close. (Don't ask why they won't let us rent the whole house from them for a few weeks until we close. Makes no sense to me!) Needless to say, use of the garage is much better than having to unload all our stuff into storage for a week and a half. I'm trying to see my glass as half full, can you tell? ;)
So our current plan is to unload all our worldly possessions in Omaha on Thursday and then head to Colorado and stay with my parents. SUPER. EXCITED!! I haven't been to Colorado in two years. It's going to be so much fun!! Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us bunk down with you for a while! You are life savers.
And, in case you were wondering, Tandon's warehouse/office space is supposed to be available August 1st. They have told him he can start at any point and work from Kansas City for a few weeks. Can you say, perfect timing?
As a result of living in limbo for awhile, I probably won't be able to post blogs again until sometime in mid-July. Look for an overflow of pictures then!
So, to sum it all up...my stress level is out the wazoo! :) But I know God is in control of all these little details that don't seem to be working out like I planned. I pray that I never forget how clearly we have seen God's hand in opening this door and working out the perfect timing for everything. Now if I can just end one journey and begin the next with a continued trust in my Savior. Feel free to remind me of this next week when I am freaking out. ;)
Couldn't have a post without a pic of the kids. What would you do if all your toys were packed in a box? We play with expired popcorn kernels and kitchen spoons--highly entertaining.

Love Grows Best in Little Houses
A lot has happened around here the last few weeks!
We signed a contract on our house in Arkansas and are scheduled to close June 29th. Hooray!
As soon as we signed the contract we made plans for a trip to Omaha to find housing. Totally planned on renting, but as things progressed it became evident that the best option was to buy again.
We signed a contract on a house in Omaha last weekend and have been frantically packing and taking care of all the paperwork that goes along with buying/selling houses.
Our trip to Omaha was a whirlwind, to say the least! Living out of a hotel and restaurants with two little ones for 4 nights was interesting. The kids did great despite very little sleep and being drug all over town looking at houses.
Poor Kellen is so confused, he kept asking, "Is this house in Omaha, Nebraska?" A few times he looked out the window and exclaimed, "Oh look, there's Colorado!" (Where my parents live.) Location is such an abstract concept that he never quite figured out that we were in Omaha the whole weekend and every house we looked at was in Omaha. He also kept asking questions about what the people who live in the house we bought are going to do when we get there. He must think we are all going to live together. :) I'm discovering that explaining life changes to a three-year-old is not easy.
Here's a picture of our new home. Our house in Omaha is substantially smaller than the one in Arkansas because of higher tax rates. Tandon and I have both gone through a mourning period over this, but I keep reminding myself it is only a house. Having Tandon home for dinner most evenings and going to church as a family on a regular basis is worth getting rid of a few things and living closer to one another for a season.

Puzzles
Bragging on my boy today! Not only can he complete a 60 piece puzzle by himself (pretty amazing if you ask me), but this morning he put two 60 piece puzzles together that had been mixed up and stored in the same box. He did not acquire this skill from his mother. ;) Good job buddy!!
