Wednesday morning Kellen woke up with this horrible rash all over his body--even the palms of his hands and the bottoms of his feet. My medical expertise diagnosed him with an allergic reaction to the antibiotics he has been on for Strep Throat. The doctor at the walk in clinic disagreed and thinks it might be chickenpox caught from the vaccine Kellen got last week. On a side note, we waited two extra years before giving him the vaccine because I didn't feel comfortable with it. Figures this would happen. ;)
We are supposed to follow up with our pediatrician on Friday to see what he thinks. I am still convinced that this is a reaction to the antibiotics because of the way the rash looks and the swelling in his face, although Kellen spiked a 102.7 temperature last night. You don't run a fever with allergies, right?
It's always an adventure at our house! We had a house showing while I was at the doctor with the kids. When we got home the garage door was locked and I couldn't get in the house because my house key is in the lock box for the Realtors. Who locks their garage door anyway?!? Tandon was able to meet us and give me his key so it wasn't that big of a deal, but combined with the rest of the day's events I was rather annoyed. Looking forward to what exciting adventures today will bring!!
Feel free to give your vote on Kellen's rash. I'll update again tomorrow after we get a second opinion.
