Let the work begin

Unlocking the door of our new home. Exciting stuff!

Yesterday we ripped out all the carpet and pad and Tandon pulled up the tack strip in the areas that will be replaced with hard wood. Tandon was also able to mow the foot-long grass in the front yard before it got dark. He had to work today, but we will be back out there Sunday after church.

As you can see, both children were very helpful. :)

We Did It!

We took the plunge and bought a house today.

Look for pictures of the remodel tomorrow (and over the next few weeks).

4 Months Old

Stats
Height: 24.5 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 15 pounds 15 ounces (90th percentile)

When the Doctor walked into our exam room today she admired Anna's cheeks. Then she saw Anna's rolls on her legs and said "Oh my word! She should be the poster child for breast feeding!" Haha!

Random Facts About Anna

~She sleeps 10 hours at night (8:30-6:30)

~Takes two long naps 8-11 and 12:30-3ish, plus one or two shorter naps in the evenings.

~Eats 5 times a day (every 3.5-4 hours)

~Her back and stomach muscles are getting stronger, evidenced by her ability to lift her head and shoulders while laying on her belly. I can also carry her on my hip now. She still hasn't rolled over, but the doctor said she wasn't concerned because Anna is so strong. She is either too heavy (ha!) or just doesn't care to roll yet. Kellen was the same way, so I'm not worried yet either.

~She still sucks the first two fingers on her right hand and will randomly find her thumb on the same hand. It has been super nice not to have to play the pluggie game.

~Her favorite toy right now is her swing with music and lights. She will contentedly swing while cooing and smiling at the lights.

~She is very happy most of the time. Kellen can get her to giggle by playing peak-a-boo. So cute to see them interacting with each other!

Tugger

Tugger, my parent's dog, also came to visit this weekend. I'm pretty sure Kellen likes Tugger more than Tugger likes Kellen. :)

Happy Father's Day

My dad swung over to celebrate Father's Day with us and to shoot handguns with Tandon.

Happy Father's Day to two amazing dads!

I Tried

Happy Birthday Tandon!!

I tried to start the day with something special for a two year old. However, I forgot that my two year old is not like the rest. We were going to surprise Daddy in bed with birthday noise makers. I was the only one making noise while Kellen was crying because he didn't like the sound. :)

I tried to order Tandon the perfect gift online, but it won't get here until Monday.

I tried to invite all our friends to a special birthday dinner. Amazingly 16 of the 19 people are out of town this weekend. It got to the point that Tandon accused me of pretending everyone was out of town so that they could surprise him at the restaurant. I wish I was that creative!

I tried to make cheese cake for the first time because I know Tandon likes it. The recipe says to leave it in the oven with the door shut for 5-6 hours after baking to prevent cracking. Obviously it didn't work.

Despite all the flops we had a fabulous time with the few friends who could make it. The cheese cake tasted delicious--cracks and all. And by the end of the day Kellen had overcome his fear and was blowing the noise makers himself.

Happy Birthday Old Man!

It's the little things in life

Our life has been beyond busy the last few weeks. I thought I should post a few random pictures of my sweet babies, so that grandma doesn't forget what they look like. :)

My doll baby in her new hair bow. Girls are so much fun!!

One of Kellen's latest achievements is going potty. I bought a toilet seat for him to practice sitting on before bath each night. He was so excited about it that we have tried going potty all morning. He has achieved success twice so far today! I didn't intend to potty train yet, but maybe we'll go for it. Feel free to share your advice and/or horror stories in the comments.
