15 Months

~Your vocabulary is slowly developing to include: dada, uh-oh, up, and hat.

~You are standing for 5+ seconds on your own and are so proud of yourself. You'll be walking before we know it!

~We practiced stacking blocks a few days ago and you mastered that skill within minutes. Complete with claps and squeals for your accomplishment.

~Curiosity gets you in trouble often. :)

~All 8 front teeth have made their appearance--four on top and four on bottom.

~You are sneakily defiant, but you seem to be figuring out that Mama will consistently discipline you for disobedience and fit throwing. Both have been less frequent over the last couple of weeks. Good job!

~Kellen is your best buddy! When you wake up before him from nap time you don't know what to do with yourself and it is all I can do to keep you from crawling into his room and waking him up.

~You still suck the three fingers on your right hand, only now you get angry when I prompt you to remove them during wake time. I hope to eliminate daytime finger sucking over the next few months, so get ready little one. :)

~This age is so fun, your personality is really coming out and you are finding your place in our family. We love you Annie!!

Her Hair is Growing!!!

When I found out I had a daughter, one of the things I was most excited about was being able to do her hair. Silly, I know. :) It is finally long enough to put in a rubber band. Hooray! Looks a little like Pebbles or maybe Alfalfa from the Little Rascals. Oh well, I was excited to actually do something with it.

Guess what we did during the house showing today?

Naps are highly overrated...Krispy Kreme is way more fun!

This Mama is ready for the unpredictability of house showings to be over! Not so sure the kids would agree. :)

Our "Weekend"

Our family enjoyed a "weekend" together this week because Tandon had Wednesday and Thursday off. It is a rarity for our daddy to have two days in a row at home so we took advantage of the time and planned many fun outings. It was nice to have Tandon home for such an extended amount of time--I needed that!!

Go Carts

Technically, Kellen is too young to ride the go karts, but the guy let him since no one else was on the track. Lightening McQueen is K's obsession right now, so this was a highlight of the weekend. I had a horrible time getting a good picture, but if you look closely you can see his tiny head sticking up next to Tandon.

Bowling

Helping mow--with ear protection. :)

Sweetness

New Bike Helmet

Trip to the Square

We love you Daddy and look forward to 'real weekends' in Omaha!!

Fork

I inadvertently left a fork on Anna's tray the other night. Next thing I knew she was doing this...

Advanced??? I think so!

Dear Kellen,

Well, you finally made it all 6 blocks to our mailbox on your new-to-you-bike (thank you Iain and family for the blessing you have been to us) without shedding a single tear. You have struggled to learn the art of pedaling for months and have finally mastered it. Way to go!! Once you mastered pedaling, we began practicing the brake. Oh, what a struggle it was for you.

Yesterday when we came upon the hill slight incline downward you said, "I'm not gonna yike dis." But you conquered your fear and can now ride downhill without tears or terror. Good job buddy! Gross motor skills have never come easily for you, nor do you enjoy high speed, 'dangerous' activities. But I am so proud of the way that you persevered and never gave up.

I'm excited about being able to jog on our walks this summer just to keep up with you. We are going to have so much fun! (Well, some of us will. Your sister can hardly stand the fact that you are out there going fast and she is strapped into the stroller. She will be chasing you on the tricycle in no time, so watch out.)

I pray that this challenging experience has taught you much about perseverance and hard work. Never give up...you can do anything!

So proud of you, my little man!
Mama

PS. I'm not looking forward to taking the training wheels off anytime soon. Maybe we could send you to Grandpa's house in a few summers and he can teach you that new skill. ;)
