Daddy's Boy

Kellen has just recently discovered the TV. He is mesmerized by the bright lights. The other day I walked into the room to find both Tandon and Kellen glued to the TV. Of course, I had to take their picture.

Then the next morning I came into the kitchen to find them both "reading" the paper. Once again, I ran for the camera.

Kellen is definitely a daddy's boy. His face lights up every time Tandon enters the room. I look forward to the day when they can do more productive things together; like play football, read Table Talk, build furniture (for me), and hunt.

How Does He Do That?

Kellen has started moving around in his sleep. For the past three nights he has managed to rotate himself around 180 degrees. Here he is at 8:15 Sunday night. His head is at the top of the crib.

Now here he is at 6:15 Monday morning. It's not the best picture, but he has completely turned himself around. Now his feet are pointed the direction his head used to be. How does he do that?

Church Picnic

Kellen attended his first church picnic yesterday. The girls set up an "outdoor nursery" for the babies, while the guys played frisbee and the older kids romped through the stream. We had a good time being outdoors with friends.

Drool Machine

Kellen has become a drooling machine. I took this picture after he'd been up for less than 10 minutes this morning. I hope we get a tooth out of all this drool.

Sextuplets

I have been driving around for the past few days picking up job applications and checking out childcare facilities. During this process, I have come to realize that there is not a facility out there that is good enough for MY baby. This process has also reinforced how messed up our society has become!

If a woman has sextuplets, she is all over the news. The community rallies around her, showering her with gifts and taking shifts to live with her and help with the babies. I think there's even a TV show on TLC about a family with sextuplets.

However, every childcare center I have visited has a 6 to 1 ratio in their infant room. Our society has decided it is okay to pay a woman $7/hr to care for 6 babies all day. Calculate that out and each child gets a minimum of 1.25 hours of individual care daily (not taking into account that the more fussy babies will get more attention). This is definitely not how God intended for us to raise our children.

Please pray for Tandon and I as we crunch numbers and try to figure out what's best for our family. Pray that God would open the door for a better paying job for Tandon or that He would provide a sweet grandmother who is willing to care for Kellen while I work. (By the way, Mom you are welcome to move back in with us, like you did while I was on bed rest. HEE HEE)

I know that God is faithful!!

Random Pictures

Here are a few random pictures of my sweet boy that I took during the move. Since I was unable to blog during that time I thought I would post them now.

Chillin' by the pool before we moved.

First taste of Pears. He wasn't sure what to think.

New Toy: Grandma took lots of breaks from unpacking to play with Kellen.

Kellen rolled over twice after we moved, but seems to have forgotten how he did it. He is now content just to look around while on his belly.

Happy Birthday Big T!

Yesterday was Tandon's 33rd Birthday. Since we finally got internet at our new place, I thought I would post some pictures of the party. We had some friends over for fajitas and cake. Thirty-three is OLD, so I decided it would be appropriate to decorate in black. We had to break out the oven mitt in order to get all 33 candles lit. We might have to call in the fire department for backup next year! :-) Happy Birthday Big T!
