Nursery

Here are a few pictures of the nursery. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but Tandon painted three walls yellow and one wall green. He put a brown stripe around two walls so that we can eventually paint a verse (either Jeremiah 29:11 or Psalm 119:14). After the walls were done, my mom arranged all the furniture. Meanwhile, I read, watched TV and worked sudoku puzzles on the couch. When the nursery was complete I was able to walk in and see the finished product. It was kinda like Trading Spaces, only I didn't have to decorate anyone else's room. I highly recommend this method of decorating!

Bed Rest

Well, I went to the Doctor last week and I am "officially" on bed rest. The Doctor said that I can only get up to go to the bathroom, shower and eat. (I guess I broke the rules when I walked to the computer.) She said that I need to stay down until week 34. (We are 29 weeks along now.) Every week after that will increase the likelihood that the baby can come home with us from the hospital. I continue to have contractions when I am up for very long, so keep praying that this baby holds out!

Tandon finished painting the nursery and my mom helped set up the furniture. It looks very cute!! I will get Tandon to take some pictures to post.

Thanks to everyone who sent a list of books. My mom is still here, so she went to the library and got some of the recommended books. I had better go lay back down and begin reading.

as promised

Here are a few belly pictures taken last week. We are officially in our 7th month of pregnancy!

So far, if I stay off my feet, I am not having any major contractions. My mom has been working up a storm freezing meals for Tandon and I so that I don't have to be on my feet after she goes home. Tandon has been painting away on the nursery and I have been laying on the couch going stir crazy. I would love a list of everyone's favorite books that I can read to bide my time. Thanks for your prayers! Little T needs to bake a while longer.

Hospital Visit

Tandon and I spent most of the day on Saturday in the hospital because I was having contractions every two minutes. When we got to the hospital we were told that I was dilated to about one centimeter. I was given two doses of morphine to try to stop the contractions. They eventually slowed down and have now stopped. Since the trip to the hospital I have done a whole lot of resting to try to prevent any more complications in my pregnancy. My aunts have taken turns staying at our house to do the cooking and cleaning. My mom is flying down on Thursday to stay for a while and make sure I don't over do it. I don't know what we would do without our family!! Please be praying that our baby will stay put for at least 8 more weeks. (We are 28 weeks along out of 40 weeks.) I am very tired of doing nothing and it has only been 4 days, so feel free to email often.

For those of you who have requested belly pictures, I promise to post them by this weekend.

Hippo in Hutto

Kara and Julie came down to Texas last weekend. It was SO good to hang out with friends again! We did a little shopping, toured Austin, ate at Chuy's and visited Hutto. While in Hutto we stopped for a photo shoot on the hippo. Legend has it that in the 1800's a circus train went through Hutto and a hippo escaped. The train did not know the hippo was missing until the town radioed saying, "There's a hippo in Hutto." Ever since the mascot of Hutto has been the hippo and they are proud of it! Everyone has a hippo in their yard. We saw hippo's wearing swim suites, a dalmatian spotted hippo in front of the fire station and baby hippos. Tandon is now convinced that we need a camouflage hippo in our yard. :-)

My Boys

A few weeks ago Tandon and I drove around the pasture on the east side of our property checking fence. Kooper experienced his first ride in the bed of the truck. I took a few pictures of Tandon and Kooper while we were out there. Aren't they handsome?

First Entry

Hey everyone! I thought a blog would be a great way to keep friends and family updated on our lives (since I am so slow in calling and emailing). It will also allow Tandon and I to post pictures of our baby after he/she is born. As soon as I figure out how to add pictures to this blog I will post updated photos of Kooper and our cattle. Life in Texas has been interesting. I'm excited about sharing some of our adventures!
